There is a variety of wildlife to see on Deak Lake, including Ospreys, Egrets, Herons, Turtles, a variety of ducks & geese, and everyone's favorite locals, the Bald Eagles! (Yes we just said Bald Eagles)
We ask that you be respectful of the local animal population by keeping a safe distance, and never feeding them under any circumstance. Our staff can guide you to the more active areas of the lake to see our local lake residents,
What to Bring for Your Day on the Lake
Paddling in any of the vessels is a workout. You'll want to wear comfortable clothes you're not afraid to get wet. Typically our guests will wear a bathing suit or something comparable.
We advise everyone to wear sunscreen or sunblock while on the water. Hats, visors and sunglasses will also help.
Cell Phones and/or Personal Items
If you wish to bring your cell phone we suggest a waterproof phone case, preferably one that floats. All vessels offer a dry storage compartment for personal items. **Note we are not responsible for lost or damaged items**
Backpacks, food, drinks.....
Backpacks with food and beverages are fine to bring out with you. NO ALCOHOL will be permitted on the vessels. There are no trash cans on the lake so we ask that anything you bring out there with you comes back to the dock.
