Weather Guidelines

Guests must be at least 45 lbs or 13 years old to use a single - person vessel and must be accompanied by an adult on a separate vessel.  Guests 15-17 years of age can paddle alone with a guardian signed waiver.

All kayak, canoe, and SUP rentals will CEASE when winds reach  or exceed an average of 15 mph.  In the event of a storm where lightning and thunder are present, the Dock will close immediately.

Any reservation cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled rental will be charged a $25 cancellation fee per vessel. (This does not include a cancellation due to inclement weather)

There is a limited amount of parking inside the actual park, but there is plenty of free parking on the street bordering the park.

Absolutely not! Our staff will get you in and out of the water and carry all the equipment to the dock for you. Our staff will ensure you safely get in and out of the vessel/water.

Our staff monitors the weather daily.We want all of our guests to have the best experience on the lake as possible and will allow you to reschedule your reservation in the case of inclement weather.

About Us

Deal Lake Dock Company in Asbury Park offers canoe, SUP and kayak rentals for use on Deal Lake. We also run a bait and tackle truck for all of your freshwater fishing supplies in Asbury Park. You can find us at the public boat ramp in Asbury Park on 7th Ave and Main Street.

Bait & Tackle Shop

Inside our mobile Bait and Tackle truck you will find all your fishing supplies in Asbury Park. We offer live bait, artificial lures and general tackle for panfish, pike and largemouth bass. Most of our lures are handcrafted by independent lure makers and are color specific for our the local waters. Our Bait-shop Manager has years of experience fishing for bass and crappie on Deal Lake. He will not carry a lure unless it has caught a quality fish on The Lake. 



**All of our  single person kayaks are equipped with rod holders for your fishing poles.**

Wildlife on Deal Lake

There is a variety of wildlife to see on Deak Lake, including Ospreys, Egrets, Herons, Turtles, a variety of ducks & geese, and everyone's favorite locals, the Bald Eagles! (Yes we just said Bald Eagles)


We ask that you be respectful of the local animal population by keeping a safe distance, and never feeding them under any circumstance.  Our staff can guide you to the more active areas of the lake to see our local lake residents,

Stand Up Paddle Stretch and Meditation class on Sundays @ 9:30 am

Stand  Up  Paddle Stretch  and Mediation  class  Saturdays  @  4  pm


The program consists of proper form when paddling. We will go on a relaxed pace paddle with stretching to release tension of the the body followed with a guided meditation to distress the body and mind.  Pls bring water, towel, and sun block.  Pls arrive 15 mins early.

 

$25 for class or  $42  for class and board rental

Get to know Jess

Jessica Desmond is a NYC/NJ-based fitness professional who has worked in the health and fitness industries for over 15 years. She is a certified personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise (ACE), and she also holds certifications in Kettlebell Athletics, Corrective Exercise, TRX Suspension Training, Sport-Specific Training, IMX Pilates, Functional Training, and Pre/Post Natal Fitness. She is currently working towards her Medical Exercise Specialist (MES) certification. Her belief that “Health is Life’s Priority” has been a driving force throughout her career, which has included a diversity of clientele: professional athletes, celebrities,models, seniors, mothers/mothers-to-be, and those needing post-rehab and functional training programs. 

Growing up in the beach town of Asbury Park, New Jersey, Jessica discovered her passion for the outdoors at an early age.  She spent her days swimming, surfing, hiking, biking, running, and skateboarding. Embracing the outdoors plays a big part in how she stays fit, and she supports getting outside of the gym whenever possible. 

Jessica is currently coaching privately and teaching Stand Up Paddle board in the Asbury Park, NJ area.

Paddling in any of the vessels is a workout. You'll want to wear comfortable clothes you're not afraid to get wet. Typically our guests will wear a bathing suit or something comparable.

We advise everyone to wear sunscreen or sunblock while on the water. Hats, visors and sunglasses will also help.

If you wish to bring your cell phone we suggest a waterproof phone case, preferably one that floats. A ziplock plastic bag will also work as well.  All vessels offer a dry storage compartment for personal items. **Note we are not responsible for lost or damaged items**

Backpacks with food and beverages are fine to bring out with you. NO ALCOHOL will be permitted on the vessels. There are no trash cans on the lake so we ask that anything you bring out there with you comes back to the dock.
